WELCOME TO THE SD#71 ROBOTICS SITE!

2010-2011

This web site is intended to provide a platform for all of the students, staff and parents in the Comox Valley, with an interest in Robots and Robotics, to build a base of knowledge and explore areas of interest.

The links on the left will help you to build a base of knowledge about robots and robotics, provide information on different kinds of robots (starting with basic kits), some of the robotic competitions you might want to enter or follow and breaking news about where this field is going. The links on the right will provide curricular links so that you can add learning about robotics to the curriculum your students, or children, are studying, keep you informed about local activities (on Vancouver Island and in British Columbia) and help you explore career options related to these fields.

Summer 2010 Highlight

Our "home page" will feature links to a variety of themes during the year. For the summer of 2010 we'll be highlighting elements from the recent RoboCup in Singapore. The robot used in that event is the Nao from Aldebaran Robotics (in France). Here is a 'dance' performed by the Nao at World Expo in Shanghai, China.
