WELCOME TO THE SD#71 ROBOTICS SITE!

2011 - 2012

This web site is intended to provide a platform for all of the students, staff and parents in the Comox Valley, with an interest in Robots and Robotics, to build a base of knowledge and explore areas of interest.

The links on the left will help you to build a base of knowledge about robots and robotics. The links on the right will provide curricular links.

FESTO Smart Inversion

The German company Festo does some amazing things. There new Smart Inversion flying object probably stands what you though you knew about flight on its head (see main video). For a better view of how this works and a report check out Hanover Trade Show presentation and the New Scientist article. Two other links demonstrate where elements of flight may be going: Electric Multicopter and Robotic Birdplane. Last year's Festo SmartBird completes this package of links.

We hope to update the video/s on this page every week or two during the 2011-12 school year. Come on back frequently to see the latest links. For older links see previous links.)

Welcome to our visitors from across Canada and around the World. Since these pages were created, in March 2009, we have been honoured to have had visits from folks in 92 countries and over 130 Canadian communities. We live, and can learn from each other, in our sometimes very flat world!
